Christmas is near and you can almost hear the exciting ring of the bells. Snowy or not, there is something in the air that just makes you feel ready for lot of fun times with family and friends, lots of presents but also a lot of preparation and activities around the house that must be done in order for a truly awesome celebration.
Among the regular flawless house cleaning, cooking and shopping, you must also find time for decorating. It is a very exciting job for many, who are ready to experiment with ideas in order to provide the house with warmth and a true holiday spirit.
Starting with color, there is a great diversity in what you can choose in order to create a thematic Christmas. You can choose red, which is more of a mainstream option for many, especially in recent years. Then you can also go with green, in spirit of the evergreen plants like ivy, holly, mistletoe and the most important of all – the Christmas tree. Blue and white are also an option here as they are usually the two colors one relates to cold weather, snow and winter – both will give your house clean and stylish look. You can go with a mixture of all options and create something truly amazing.
Next come the decorative toys, figurines, candles and everything that makes the holiday special for you. Include angels, faeries, little Santa’s, dwarves, elves, elks, polar bears, and basically anything that makes you smile and brings the holiday spirit in your home. Put those on the walls, on shelves, on the doors, anywhere. Include your kids in the process – they will be more than willing to assist you with this, plus any cleaning you will have to do afterwards.
What is Christmas without a Tree?
There is actually a big dilemma that many people face here – whether to buy a real or artificial tree. There are pros and cons to both options, as many people like to point. Real trees can be more expensive in that you need to buy them each year, and they tend to make a little mess when their needles start dropping, which will then require cleaning. At the same time, they are a natural option, which doesn’t harm the environment and can really offer an amazing atmosphere. Artificial trees can be used for multiple years in a row, and a good number of models come pre-decorated so if time is something you lack, perhaps they are the option for you. Regardless of what model you choose to go for, make sure it is a focal point in your room. Add it next to a fireplace, if you have one, include present boxes and stockings and you will have a truly special holiday asset.
Christmas is the time of the year that many people await with anticipation and for a good reason – it really can be a lot of fun with all the decorating possibilities that can completely change the look of one’s home.
